Welcome to the Social Connections and Influence lab. We research the psychology of social ostracism. Why does it hurt to be left out? If ostracism is painful, why do people still ignore and exclude others? How is social exclusion used to influence the attitudes and behavior of other people? We aim to provide replicable answers to these questions, and more, using experimental methods.
