Welcome to the Social Connections and Influence lab. We research the psychology of social ostracism. Why does it hurt to be left out? If ostracism is painful, why do people still ignore and exclude others? How is social exclusion used to influence the attitudes and behavior of other people? We aim to provide replicable answers to these questions, and more, using experimental methods.
Dr. Hales is planning to accept a PhD student for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Interested in getting involved as a research assistant? We are currently recruiting undergraduate research assistants (Psy 420) for Fall 2022. To learn more, mail Dr. Hales: email@example.com.
